Born in Puerto Rico, he showed a deep connection to music from a very young age, especially to salsa. His father, Jerry Rivas, a renowned El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico member, often took him to performances, sparking a passion that only grew.
He began his artistic journey as part of the children’s group Gerardito y los Rockolos, and later enrolled in the Escuela Libre de Música Ernesto Ramos Antonini in San Juan, where he formally began his musical education and developed as a percussionist.
After graduating at age 19, he joined Víctor Manuelle’s orchestra as a percussionist, where he met Norberto Vélez. The group NG2 was born from that collaboration, a project that enjoyed a successful 16-year run.
In 2020, he launched a new chapter as a solo artist, offering a musical proposal that is fresh, full of energy, and good vibes, reaffirming his commitment to salsa and its evolution.
