Jota Ruiz is a Puerto Rican singer, trumpeter, producer, arranger, and educator from Ponce, Puerto Rico. Throughout his career, he has toured and collaborated with some of Latin music’s biggest names, including Ricky Martin, Luis Fonsi, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Víctor Manuelle, Olga Tañón, Andy Montañez, Tony Vega, and Jerry Rivera, among many others.
He has also performed in acclaimed productions such as On Your Feet, In the Heights, The Cher Show, and Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story. After years as a respected musician and musical director, Jota launched his solo career in 2021, bringing a fresh, trumpet-driven sound to contemporary salsa. Today, he is recognized as one of Puerto Rico’s rising voices in the genre, blending tradition with a modern musical vision.
