Omar Hernández, known as Omi, is a versatile Cuban artist based in Miami, United States. With his fearless exploration of new styles and genres, Omi has gained recognition as a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and producer; mixing Latin pop and urban sounds, he captivates audiences around the world.
In 2015, his single “Removiendo el piso” achieved overwhelming success, showing his versatility and since then he has recorded with several of the most popular contemporary Cuban artists such as Diana Fuentes, Descemer Bueno, Kelvis Ochoa, and El Micha. In 2020, Omi released the EP Suspiro, which marks an important milestone in his career with a new aesthetic approach in the realm of urban/Spanish R&B. Recently, his hit single “Ella” and his collaboration with Kelvis Ochoa and El Micha on “Me quieres” continue to captivate listeners.
Inspired by his family, Omi’s passion for music stems from her piano studies and his father’s role as bassist for the legendary band Afrocuba.
